There is no question that within the next few years it will be very challenging for airlines and aircraft operator to hire and retain qualified and experienced crew members. Like many airlines around the globe, US operators will have to look beyond the US borders to find competitive candidates.

The process of selecting, interviewing and hiring pilots from abroad can seen cumbersome, specially when it involves work permits and licenses in the US.

FlexPilots Aviation is the link between US operators and experienced, qualified and motivated aviators from around the world.

The vast majority of our candidates have a minimum of 2500 Pilot-in-Command of Airline Transport category aircraft, airline experience and fluency in the English language.

The process of hiring a pilot from overseas:

Flexpilots will identify individuals from a pool of candidates that meet your requirements and  present them for a pre-selection.

Once the operator selects the individuals, they will be notified by Flexpilots for a possible participation in the hiring process. If operator requires an interview in person in the US, candidate will be responsible to secure his/hers Visa to travel to the US for the interview. The candidate will go through your standard screening/interviewing protocol.

After a candidate successfully completes the hiring process, the operator will offer a Conditional Job Offer (CJO) which usually states that employment will be offered once candidate presents proper immigration documentation (Permanent Resident Card).

At this point, once the CJO is available, our attorneys will file proper documentation to request required authorization for candidate’s immigration visa, a process that takes in average 12 months.

The operator DOES NOT get involved in this process besides the CJO letter. Candidate will be subjected to an extensive background check and medical examination by the US Government  in order to be approved as a Permanent Resident of the United States.

It is important to emphasize that an US operator is NOT required to “sponsor” a candidate for a visa, all documentation requirements are between the individual and the Government. The CJO is just an instrument that provides some security for the individual that is applying for the visa (a costly and time consuming process) that he/she will have employment once the process is completed.

We would like to further discuss our services with your HR/Flight Ops departments in the near future to clearly explain how FlexPilots can be an important asset for your future cockpit staffing needs.
